Marvin Anthony Houtstra

Marvin Anthony Houtstra, age 86, of Grandville, also known as Marv, Hon, Dad, Pa, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, went home to be with his Lord on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Jeanette Houtstra; first wife, Dorothy Mae Houtstra; son Kenneth Houtstra; siblings, Esther Geelhoed, and David Houtstra. Marv will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie (VanderZee - Mulder) Houtstra; children, Kristie and Robert Buchholz, Marva and John Schepers, Randall and Kim Mulder, Sharon and Dan Ellis, Tamie and Jeff DeWitte, Doug and Jackie Houtstra; grandchildren, Brandon (Tiffany), Keri Sue (Johnnie), Chad (Becky), Dawn (Scott), Rachel (Taylor), Cortney (Ryan), Stacey (Andrew), Megan (Jeremy), Abigail, Charles (Brittany), Troy (Leah), Anthony (Liz), Tyler, Mark, Connor, Megan; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Elsa, Tucker, Tinsley, Tillin, Sawyer, Kenneth, Graycelynn, Archer, Chase, Tanner, Bo, Saylor, Jay, Rocky, Maxine, Penna, Knox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rev. Neva Evenhouse, Janet (Rev. Sidney) DeWaal, Rev. Leonard (Jean) VanderZee, Rev. John (Rev. Wendy) VanderZee; several nieces and nephews. Marv served his country in the United States Army. He was proud of his over 50 years in the funeral industry (which Marv would call “underground housing”). He cherished his family and loved spending time with them. Marv was an active member of Fellowship CRC in Grandville. A private family service and burial will take place on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, with a public memorial service to be held at a later date. Burial Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
