Martin Verhey Sr.

VERHEY – Mr. Martin Verhey Sr., aged 94 of Kentwood went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Nellie; brothers and sister-in-law, Pete (Metje) Verhey and Ben Verhey; sister-in-law, Johanna Hoogendam;. He is survived by his children, Agnes (Hank) Van Beek of Caledonia, Gerrit (Diana) Verhey of Borculo, Martin Jr. (Hennie) Verhey of Kentwood, Maria (Derk) Van Dijk of Kentwood, Johanna (Roger) Ritsema of Sparta; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Joan Verhey of Iowa. Funeral services for Martin will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the American Reformed Church, 3179 – 68^th St. SE, Dutton with Rev. Kenneth Kok officiating. Interment in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE Thursday from 6-8 pm. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to The American Reformed Church.
