Marlene Malec

​Marlene Malec, age 73, of Grand Rapids, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 27, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Donald Ross; and brother, Arthur Ross. She will be dearly missed by her children, Thomas Malec, Anthony (Soma) Malec, Michael (Angela) Malec, Matthew (Debra) Malec, Mary (fiance, Chad Grinwis) Malec; grandchildren, Grace, Ethan, Kayla, Charlotte, Briella; siblings, Arlene (Dave) Allen, Donald (Linda) Ross, Jr., Jerry (Kathi) Ross, Sandy Opatic; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Marlene was a caring, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren and loved being with them. She had a contagious laugh, was open, honest, and old fashioned in her treatment of others. Marlene had a good memory and provided a shoulder to lean on whenever the family needed it. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., June 1, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Avenue SE with Rev. Troy Nevins presiding. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
