Marlene Groenendyk

Marlene Joyce Groenendyk, aged 86, of Jenison, passed away peacefully and entered into her Savior’s presence on Friday, October 13, 2023. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; sister, Yvonne; brother-in-law, Bill Groenendyk; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jay and Gesena Groenendyk; and brother-in-law, Bert Bakhuyzen. Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Randy and Betsy Groendyk, Steve and Diana Groenendyk, Cheri and Ron Smit, and Todd and Lisa Groenendyk; grandchildren, David (Anaite) Groendyk, Sara (Jordan) Bakker, Kristin (Abdullah) Alyousif; Nick (Lisa) Smit, Cody (Jennifer) Smit, Eric Smit; Ethan, Meghan, Madalyn, and Lily Groenendyk; great-grandchildren, Elliott, Joaquin, Sofia, Mila, Ada, Raelynn, Reed, and Jaxtyn. She is also remembered with love by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and George Fennema; sister, Lavonne Bakhuyzen; sister-in-law, Ann Groenendyk; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Char Groenendyk. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Protestant Reformed Church, 4875 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Wyoming, Michigan 49418, with Rev. David Noorman officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice or The Sunset Legacy Foundation.
