
Marilyn Jeanne VanEvery, age 92, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Marilyn was born August 22, 1927, in Buchanan, MI, to Harold and Helen Mann. She graduated from Albion College. She married the love of her life, David, on November 25, 1949 and they moved to Wyoming Park and raised their four girls. She was the librarian at Parkview Elementary School. She was the organist at Wyoming Park United Methodist Church, and later played at Carlisle UMC. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, including many family trips camping around the U.S. and later with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting many pot holders. She was preceded in death by her husband, David VanEvery; son-in-law, Gary Eckert; great grandsons, Isaiah and Jase; brother, Wayne Mann. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Amy Eckert, Jane and Jerry Mohr, Melissa and Raleigh Griffin, Sarah and Bob Engster; grandchildren: Michael, Daniel, and Kathryn (Kenny White-Angba) Eckert, Christal (Steve) Huhta, Kimberly (Ron) Betser, Kevin (Angela) Griffin, Jenn (Randy) Goodwin, Kaitlyn (Kyle) Washburn, Drew Moshier, Caryn (Junior) de la Rosa, Kristen (Jason) Williams; great grandchildren: Jonathan (Rachel), Kylea, Austin, Brayton, Allyson, Harper, Adalyn, Colten, Hunter, Braylon, Kaleigh, Ethan, Landon, Heidi, Aria, Isaac, Connor, Santos, Jayden, Ethan, Cameron; great great grandchildren: Katerina and Luthein; sister-in-law, DoraLee Mann; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. A private burial will be held at Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or a charity of one’s choice. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Faith Hospice, especially Mandy and Abby.
