Marian Stevens

Marian Ruth (Buwalda) Stevens, age 95, of Jenison, completed God’s plan for her life on earth on Saturday, November 5, 2022. She is rejoicing in His presence with her husband of 56 years, James Stevens; parents, Gerrit and Fanny (Bos) Buwalda; brothers, Watson Buwalda, Charles Buwalda, and Philip and Marilyn Buwalda. She leaves behind her children, Chuck and Sharon (Hepworth) Stevens, Kerry Stevens, Ruth Stevens and Steve Latus; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Adam and Molly Stevens (Charlie, Evelyn), and Joshua and Heather Stevens (Carter, Ashton, Kenzie); sisters-in-law, Betty Buwalda, and Lois Stevens. Marian was a retired food columnist and features writer for the Advance Newspaper and a former Women’s Page writer for the Muskegon Chronicle. She served her church and community in many ways. Marian was also active in the areas of music and education. A celebration of Marian’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf, 6651 Scott St., Allendale. The burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, November 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Fellowship Church or the Marian R. Stevens Fund of the Allendale Community Foundation for the Allendale Township Library.
