Marian Avink

Marian Avink (Weurding), age 80, of Grandville, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 7, 2021. She now joins her husband of 54 years, Robert, who just recently preceded her in death just 35 days ago. Marian was a loving mother and grandmother who deeply treasured her family. She had a kind and loving heart who always put others before herself. She was a caretaker and friend to many. Marian enjoyed sewing and baking, working in her beautiful flower gardens, and making wonderful memories with her grandchildren. She was active in her community and was a lifetime member of the Grandville Historical Society. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Amy Avink; grandchildren, Kendra Avink and her fiance, Scott VanDyke, Tyler and Katie Avink; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Jerry Avink; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dale Fopma officiating. The service will also be livestreamed at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. Burial Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
