Janet Mae Proos

Janet Mae Proos (Snyder), age 93, of Wyoming, Michigan went home to be with her husband and beloved son on Saturday, October 10, 2026. 

Janet was born on January 19, 1933, in Caledonia, Michigan, to John and Mildred Snyder. She was the third of four daughters in her family. Janet met her loving husband, Bill, through mutual friends and the two were married shortly thereafter.

Janet found joy in baking treats for those she loved, camping, spending time outdoors, and attending car shows alongside Bill. She also enjoyed crotcheting, a skill she learned from her late son, Tim, which remained a special way for her to feel close to him. Janet was independent and never hesitated to speak her mind or share her feelings. Throughout her life, she was known for her loving personality and the warmth she brought to those around her. Janet will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Bill Proos; son Tim Proos; sisters Joyce and Annie. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her sons, John Proos, Bill Proos, Terry (Lori) Proos; sister, Jeanie Soest; grandchildren, Mandi Proos, Brent Proos, Pat Proos; great grandchildren, Zoey Proos, Cole Sage. 

A private family burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery with Pastor Ed Carpenter officiating. A celebration of life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make memorial contributions to Corewell Hospice.
