Maria Louise Cantu (Sanchez)

Maria Louise Cantu (Sanchez), age 68 of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad and Carolina Cantu and her brother, Trinidad Jr “Tiny”; family friend, Daniel Hulst. She will be missed by her daughter, Anastacia; sister, Rosa (Paul) Staeven; brothers, Alfredo Cantu, Tomas Cantu; nieces and nephews, Tresa (Carl), Jennifer (Richard), Robert (Nicole), Cori (Cory), Daniel (Alyssa), Crystal, Roger, Caitlin; great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Maria was an avid reader, loved Mexican culture, and had a spirited and enthusiastic personality that touched many people around her. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 52^nd St SE. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends 2-4 & 6-8pm on Wednesday at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with a rosary at 7:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Rapids Library or Wyoming Senior Center.
