April 8, 1976 ~
June 22, 2026

Lisa Catherine Joling (Selph), age 50, of Wyoming, was called home and is now sitting in the arms of Jesus on Monday, June 22, 2026. Lisa was born April 8, 1976 in Southfield, MI. She graduated from Northview High School in 1994. She went on to work for Saint Mary’s for many years. In the year 2000, she went to marry the love of her life who she spent the rest of her life with and was an amazing wife. A little after the birth of her daughter, she decided to take on the role of a stay-at-home mother. As the kids got older, she decided to go back to work as a Paraprofessional in a Kindergarten classroom at Vanguard Charter Academy, as well as spending her summers as the camp cook at Fort Faith Baptist Camp. Lisa was a light that shined on everyone she ever met. Anyone who ever met her saw the beautiful smile that she had that lit up a room and a hand that was extended to whoever may have needed the help. The way that she carried and presented herself was as a true daughter of the Lord. Lisa was a devout Christian that found it important to touch as many souls as possible. She learned sign language to help spread the word to those who are hearing impaired. Over the years she worked with children ministries, youth groups, sign interpretation, and missions trips to both Uganda and Honduras. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 25 years, Michael; children, Matthew Joling, Nathaniel and fiancée Kyla, Elizabeth Joling, Gabriel Joling; father, John Selph; parents in law, John and April Joling, Paul and June Clawson; grandmother, Diane Joling; siblings, Stephen and Eileen Selph, Dan and Dana Selph, Jeff and Sarah Selph; brothers-in-law, Brent and Steve Frantz; several loving nieces and nephews and all of her beloved students who she mentored over the years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Selph; great-grandpa, John Joling. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 1, 2026,  at  Woodward Baptist Church, 2160 76th Street SW, Byron Center, with Rev. Lance Laker officiating.  Burial will be held at Winchester Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 3-8 pm at MKD Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at church.
