Madeline L. Black

Madeline L. Black, age 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2021. She was born September 13, 1955 to Brithine Sanders and Johnny Black in Riverside, California. She loved music, always spoke positive words of encouragement to those she loved. As small as her stature was, she would kick a rock about hers. Very Feisty. She’d give her last to you if you needed it. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Black. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Brithine Sanders; sisters, Rickie Black of Grand Rapids, Barbara Black of Grand Rapids, Letisa Dorris of Ohio; daughters, Shannon Black of Ohio, Trevea Black of Grand Rapids, Mercedes Gant of Grand Rapids, Khaleelah Childs of Mariette, Georgia; grandchildren, Mychael Daniel, A’Lonta Brown, Jonte’ Gant, Makiayiah Gant, Zarieh Pearson, Anais Pearson, D’Amonte’ Brown, Kasey Childs, Ja’Lonta Black; six great grandchildren; two very special friends, Anthony Gant and Charles Bonnett; along with a host of cousins, friends and family. Homegoing will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 12:00pm at Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 3864 Benjamin Ave NE, Grand Rapids, with Pastor Nathaniel Allen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior at 11:00am at the church.
