Lucille May Lowing

Lucille May “Lucy” Lowing, age 90, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 9, 2016.  Lucy was a strong woman who loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren throughout her life and served her community as a union rep during her career at Keeler Brass. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Claudia Klawiter; her husband, Wayne Lowing; her great grandson, Rowan Campbell; as well as several brothers and sisters.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Mary (Ralph) Kinley-Hodgkinson, Vicky Lowing; grandchildren: Julie (Chris) Slabbekoorn, Heather (Jeremy) Vitale, Ashley (Chris) Webb and Megan (Gerrit) Campbell; great grandchildren: Genevieve Slabbekoorn, Sophia, Lia and Nicholas Vitale, Alexa and Allison Webb, Rhys and Kiara Campbell; brothers and sisters:  Elmer (Mary Lou) Klawiter, Art Klawiter, Ralph (Jean) Klawiter, Leo (Iva) Klawiter, Joyce Vanderkolk, Diane (Howard) Brower, Walter (Marsena) Klawiter, Judy (Milton) Swainston; many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday 2 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Roger Colter officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Association for the Blind or the YWCA of Grand Rapids.  Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com.
