Stroven, Louis Jay Louis “Lou” Jay Stroven, age 79, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Charles Anthony Wright. Lou was a generous, caring and selfless man who put others before himself. He was blessed with a strong work ethic and was a humble servant of God. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Norma; children, Reg and Vicki Stroven, Camille and Dave VanDyk, DeVere and Brenda Stroven; grandchildren, Nicole and Billy Wright, Reid and Amber Stroven, Erin and Craig VanDriel, Tyler and Susan VanDyk, Haley Stroven, Riley Stroven; 5 great grandchildren, Trigg, Clete, Steele, Tucker, Madeline; brothers and sister, Gordon and Marge Stroven, Eleanor and Bill Borst, Bob and Beth Stroven; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Grace Schierbeek, Revah Smit, Wynona and Henry DeVries; several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 am at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, 1571 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. Nancy Boote and Rev. Len Kuyvenhoven officiating. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-5 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, as well as Monday from 10-10:45 prior to the service at the church.
