Lois Marie Steigenga

Lois Steigenga (Piersma) (Struik), age 94, of Jenison, passed away peacefully and was warmly embraced by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was a great homemaker. She enjoyed driving, traveling, reading, and playing with the grandkids and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Piersma; brothers and sisters, Jeanne Weiss, Grace and Joel Lowe, Robert Struik, brothers-in-law, William VanderKodde, John Schuitema; and stepson, Steve Steigenga. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Norwin Steigenga; children, Laurie Piersma, Roberta and Jay Schutte, Amy West, Mark and Marcia Piersma; stepchildren, Jack Steigenga, Kim Steigenga, Lynda and Todd Moelker; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother, William and Char Struik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, MaryLou and Joel Nederhoed, Lorraine Schuitema, John and Judy Steigenga, Leora VanderKodde, Barbara Struik; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11 am at Bethany United Reformed Church, 5401 Byron Center Ave, Wyoming, with Rev. Eric Van Der Molen officiating. Burial Blain Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, June 18 from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Christian Education Fund at Bethany United Reformed Church.
