Linda Lee Kronewitter

Linda Lee Kronewitter aged 66 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Linda was born to Edward Leo Engle and Janyce Rae Engle at Butterworth Hospital on August 15, 1960.

After graduating from Coopersville High School in 1978, Linda spent a majority of her working life behind a sewing machine. She worked 20+ years for Irwin Seating Company creating theater chairs and became an unmatched asset with skills beyond her role.

People will always remember Linda with her nose firmly in a book or craft. Her love of crafting left many wonderful gifts in her wake for loved ones to enjoy over the years. She was so endearing in these efforts that each one of her children has a gift for creating and generous hearts for those around them.

Linda also had a great love for her community and especially the children in it. Many kids in her sphere were changed by the love and time she would offer to them. There was rarely a time that she was not investing in a child showing them patience, empathy and care and therefore was often coined as “Mom” even from those she did not carry.

Linda is survived by her parents, Edward Leo Engle and Janyce Rae Engle; her sister, Donna Marie Buskard; her children, Christina Lynn Slagel, Denise Renee Mason, Stephen Allan Courtade, and Victoria Grace Jahnke; her grandchildren, Jeremy Alan Perkins, Jr., Brendon Scott Engle, Josephienne Violette Perkins, Danica Marie Jahnke, Chanler Thomas Courtade, Greyson Allan Courtade.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Literacy Center of West Michigan or Kent District Library. A celebration of life for Linda will be held at a later date that has yet to be decided.
