Letha Jane (Kreuze) Schroeder, age 87, of Grandville, passed into heaven on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was born on May 16, 1930 in Grandville, MI. In 1948, Letha married Roy Schroeder and were married for 67 years. Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Roy and grandson, Richard Todd Lorens. She is survived by her two sons, Rick (Terri) Schroeder and Stephen (Linda) Schroeder; three daughters, Rita (George) Baird, Lisa (Mark) Swymeler, and Susan Schroeder (formerly Parr); 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister Claudia (Kreuze) Misner; sisters-in-law, Lois Stock and Frances Schroeder. Letha was a gifted homemaker and hostess who enjoyed entertaining family, friends and strangers. She loved traveling, sailing, camping, water skiing, swimming, reading and raising her 5 children. Her favorite destinations included Northern Michigan and the Gulf Coast of Florida. Letha’s positive adventuresome attitude endeared her to her many friends and acquaintances around the country, beginning in Grandville, moving on to Jackson, Bay City, Kalkaska, Bradenton, Big Rapids and then back to Grandville. She was a faithful member of South Grandville Christian Reformed Church. Letha enjoyed 70 years of volunteering in many capacities. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11:00 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Dr. Dan Mouw officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
