Leslie Willard Young

Leslie Willard Young, age 94, of Wyoming, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rose; sisters, Frances Albers, Marian Young, and Natalie Fuller.  He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Marge Young, Patricia Hinsley; grandchildren, Stefanie Russo, Chris (Jackie) Russo, Lisa (Brad) Augustine, Jenni (Ben) Hinsley; great grandchildren, Andrew, Cameron, Jacob, and Meilani; sister-in-law, Jean Morris; brothers-in-law, John Wizorek, Carl Begerow; many nieces and nephews; special friends Bob Andree, Morrie Poelman.  Les was a kind, sweet, loving man who was generous to a fault. He donated to many organizations without concern for his own needs. He had a great work ethic, continuing to be employed siding, roofing, and installing windows right into his 90’s. He valiantly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed being active and loved fishing and bowling. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE,  with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home, prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association.
