Leon Marshall, age 88, of Byron Center, was called home by his loving Savior on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marshall. Leon proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. He retired from Steelcase after over 20 years of faithful service. He was an avid golfer, and he was known for his great sense of humor. Leon’s quiet, loving, and gentle spirit was evident to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his two loving and caring daughters, Beth Marshall and Kathy Marshall. He is also survived by his sister, Mabel Lampen; sister-in-law, Lucy Marshall; brother-in-law, Edwin Start; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday 1 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. with Rev. Doug Wood officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-5 pm at the funeral home, as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
