Lee (Thurston) VandenBosch, age 89, of Byron Center, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He proudly served in the Navy and dedicated over 20 years to helping others through disaster relief work with CRWRC (now World Renew). Outside of service, he had a passion for cars, a soft spot for beagles, and a green thumb. Lee was a dedicated fan of South Christian HS athletics. Above all, he was a true family man who treasured time with his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his brother, Al. Lee will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Jan; his children, Marijo and Matthew Snyder, Linda and Ed Maring, Sandy and Rick Frampton, Jayne and Shannon Werner, Tom and Joni VandenBosch; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean and Nelson Herrema, Amalie and Rich Fase; and sister-in-law, Pat VandenBosch. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Friendship CRC, 190 100th St. SE, Byron Center, 49315 with Pastor Dan Kinnas officiating. Burial will take place at Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:45 am at church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Friendship Christian Reformed Church Youth Ministries.
