Geraldine “Gerry” Post

Geraldine “Gerry” Post, age 98, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Gerry was raised on a farm in Byron Center during the Great Depression, where she learned the values of faith, hard work, and perseverance that remained with her throughout her life. She was one of the oldest charter members of Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, where her faith was an important part of her life for many years.

Gerry was a devoted mother who faithfully raised her family with strong biblical values. Her love for the Lord was reflected in the way she lived and cared for those around her. The words of Proverbs 31:30 beautifully reflect the life she lived: “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and her sons, Gary and Ronald. Gerry will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy Edgell, Carol Huizinga-Anderson and Donald Anderson, and Kathy and Bradley Bouwkamp; grandchildren: Jodi and Jonathan Diepstra (Collin Broaddus, Elsa, Anna, and Sophia Diepstra), Jeffrey and Chelsea Edgell (Remington, Gracie), Christopher Huizinga, Brad Huizinga (Tyler, Zoey), Nick Huizinga, Erica Lucas and fiancé Steven Scatino (Zander, Molly), Beth Bouwkamp and her husband Rodrigo Rivero, Alex Bouwkamp; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin St., Jenison with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday, September 25 from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Jenison Christian School.
