Lawrence Timmer

Lawrence Robert Timmer, aged 87, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025. He was a member of the Free Reformed Church of Grand Rapids. Lawrence leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Bertha. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his dear children: Cindy (Phil) Van Zytveld, Robert (Kris) Timmer, Barbara (Steve) Tanis, Steve Timmer, Cheryl (Mike) VanderZouwen, Ron (Jen) Timmer, Kathy (Tim) Holstege; daughter-in-law, Deb Cooper; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Snip; sisters-in-law, Ruth Langerak, Beatrice Potgeter, and Lillian Timmer; and many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his brothers, James Timmer and Philip Timmer, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. with Rev. Ian Macleod officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday, August 21 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home and on Friday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or Grace Christian Academy.
