
Lawrence “Larry” Vredevoogd, age 94, of Jenison, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 21, 2025. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Trish and Russ Brummel, Laurie and Jim VanWyk, Carol and Tom Sinke; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Carrie and Steve Herrema; brother-in-law, Ed and Victoria Lotterman; sister-in-law, Mary Bren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Vredevoogd; twin daughters; son, Glenn Vredevoogd; granddaughter, Jessica Vredevoogd; siblings, Sylvia Vredevoogd, Evelyn Loeks, Nick Vredevoogd, Louise VanDyken; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne Engels, Kathleen Helder, Dorius Lotterman. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. He dedicated decades of his life to church ministry and mission work and faithfully served on the board at Sunset Manor for twenty years. He also enjoyed the outdoors doing various activities. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Dan Naulty officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
