Lawrence E. Kaiser

Lawrence “Larry” E. Kaiser, age 91, of Byron Center, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 29, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Stella (Swanson) Kaiser; brother, Robert Kaiser; sister, Mary Kaiser. Larry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alberta; children, Mary DeWitt, Diane and Mike Miller, Patricia and Lee Frederickson, Gregory and Cheryl Kaiser, Margaret and Tom Frens; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Betty Mikesell, Donna Thieme, Marcelene Dumond, Karen Sytsma, Glenna Roberts, Marvin Kaiser; many nieces and nephews. Larry proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII. He was the co-owner of Kaiser Body Shop. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, classic cars and was an active member of the Model A Club, but his greatest love and accomplishment was his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 noon Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming, with Fr. John Vallier presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 p.m. (with a Rosary Service at 3:30) and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Wyoming), 4031 Clyde Park Avenue SW. and one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
