LaVerne Roy Salmon

Salmon, LaVerne Roy LaVerne Roy Salmon, age 86, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 25, 2013.  As a veteran, LaVerne proudly served his country in the US Navy.  He was a faithful employee of Kelvinator for 42 years.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Virginia; their children, Vicki Longoria, Roy and Norma Salmon, Randy and Laurie Salmon, Ron and LaRaine Salmon, Gary and Kathy Salmon, Brenda and Gary Bouwens, Brian and Kelly Salmon, Jana and Jerry Zaagman; 23 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Florence Vander Moore, Lyle and Ruth Salmon, Alice and Frank Brown, Betty Baareman, Glenn and Sandy Salmon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Darlyne Shoemaker, Mary Jane Goorhouse, Irene Vegter, Vita and Norman Pepper; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Salmon and grandson, Paul Salmon.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11 am at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Tom Pier Fitzgerald and Chaplain Vila Daniel, Greg Salmon officiating.  Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
