Laurie Ann Bok

Laurie Ann Bok, age 66 of Wyoming, a 15 year cancer survivor, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family. Laurie was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 13, 1952. She was the second of five daughters born to Norman and Leona (Roelandt) Vandewiele. Laurie attended Dominican High School. She received her bachelor’s in nursing at Nazareth College and her masters in nursing from Grand Valley State University. She recently retired from Spectrum Health after 39 years of service, most recently in cancer research. Laurie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Tom; children, Andrew, Abby and Michael VanderBrug, Aaron, and Austin; her mother, Leona (Vandewiele) VanDenBranden; her sisters, Norma and David Beauchamp, Nancy and Ernest Milligan, Mary Vandewiele, and Janice and Curt Ketelhut; mother-in-law, Goldy Bok; sister-in-law, Brenda Kludt; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Grandville, in the Res Center (use entrance “E” or “H”). Pastor Pat Binish will be officiating.  Interment will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Tom Bok for the establishment of the Austin Bok Long Term Special Needs Fund.
