Lauren Sue Willet

Lauren Sue (Fynewever) Willet, age 73, of Allendale, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, while surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert “Bud” Fynewever. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Dan; children, Brad and Melissa (Hanley) Willet, Amy (Willet) and Christopher Schrock; grandchildren, Allie Willet, Rylenn Schrock; mother, Gloria Fynewever; brother, Gary and Judy Fynewever; sister, Beth and David VanOosten; and many nieces and nephews.

Lauren had the goofiest sense of humor, (just ask her lifelong friends the “Looney Toons”) an endlessly compassionate heart, was a loyal and steadfast friend, a faithful and loving wife, and the best Mom anyone could ask for. Her hugs were the best around and her love for Jesus unmatched. She was fascinated by and loved animals, especially dogs and loons. She had perfect pitch and could harmonize with anything, even after she could no longer communicate. Lauren made everyone around her feel welcomed and loved, and that was but one of her many blessings.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home in Allendale (6651 Scott St.) with Pastor Jim Maness officiating. There will be a private interment ceremony at a later time at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the memorial service, and at the luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to The Alzheimer’s Association or Spectrum Health Hospice.  Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com, and the family encourages you to share uplifting stories about your life with Lauren.
