Larry M. Tuttle, age 66, of Jenison, was peacefully called home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Larry was a faithful man of God whose greatest joy was being with his family. He was blessed with a great sense of humor and a quick wit. Larry retired in 1998 from the Grand Rapids Police Department after 28 years of faithful service. Following retirement, he served his church with his time and talents on the facilities team for the past 11 years. Through the years, he enjoyed traveling and camping with his family and spending time at Sandy Pines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Frances Tuttle; his brother, Jim Tuttle. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Karen (VanderBoegh); his children and grandchildren, Doug and Susan Tuttle (Corydon, Ella, Raleigh), Chad and Lindsay Tuttle (Jack and Jillian); sister-in-law, Judy Tuttle; brother-in-law, Don and Diann VanderBoegh; sister-in-law, Sue and Roger Ensing; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Monday 11 am at Fair Haven Church, 2900 Baldwin, Hudsonville with Rev. Gary VanKoevering and Rev. Greg VanderMeer officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 11 am-1 pm and 4-7 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and Monday from 10-11 am prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice or Fair Haven Church. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the oncology staff from the Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion and especially to Yvette for the compassionate love and care given to Larry during his treatments.
