Larry Herweyer

Larry Lee Herweyer, age 87, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Larry was a kind and loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who dearly loved his family. He was born in Cadillac, MI to the late Gerald and Clora Herweyer and was raised in Falmouth, MI. He attended McBain High School and graduated from Michigan State University with a master’s degree in agriculture where he then began a lifelong career in produce sales and agriculture. Over the years, Larry was active both in his church and community serving in numerous ways and volunteered at the Legacy Thrift Store. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha; his parents-in-law, Richard and Alice Laarman; and brothers-in-law, Ken Kortman, Marv Koetje, and Larry MacDonald. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karen and Craig Longstreet, Joanne and Jon George, Steve and Tami Herweyer; grandchildren, Kevin and Laura Longstreet, Rebecca and Matthew Litts, Jennifer and Ricky Kurnat, Josh and Kelly George, Jason and Camryn Longstreet, Julia and Zack Cebelak, Nicholas and Jocelyn Longstreet, Michael and Sara Herweyer, Krista and Aram Brady, Andrew Herweyer; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Irene Machado, Helen MacDonald; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nella and Glenn Niezink, Carol Koetje, Carl and Brenda Laarman; several loving nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at MKD Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St., Hudsonville, with Rev. Robert Huisman officiating. Burial will take place at Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday, November 8, from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home and also on Sunday from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Legacy Thrift Store (formerly Bibles for Missions).
