Larry DeVries

Larry Allen DeVries, age 83, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Tony Akkerman; brothers-in-law, James Walthorn, Chuck Hildebrand; and sister-in-law, Winifred DeVries. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 60 years, Lois; children, Jeffrey DeVries and Barbara Boertje DeVries, Robert and Cheryl DeVries, Ryan and Nancy DeVries; grandchildren, Lauren, Bradley, Anna, Lillian, Jonathan; siblings, Fred DeVries, Betty Hildebrand, Jack and Pat DeVries; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Faith and John Ruiter, John and Kathy Walthorn, Phyllis and Bob Myers; extended family and friends. Larry proudly served in the US Army stationed in Germany and retired from GM after 42 years of faithful service. Larry and the family enjoyed their time at their cabin and he and Lois enjoyed traveling. Larry had a life-long affection for trains and railroading and he passed that on to his children. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville with Pastor Matt Cook officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday from 10-11 am at church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the First Reformed Church of Grandville Missions Fund.
