Kristi Lynn Smith

Kristi Lynn Smith (Adams), age 48, of Jenison, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on February 19, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her daughters and husband. Kris, as she was known to her family, grew up in Wyoming and attended Rogers High School. Kris spent 10 years working for Foremost Insurance before the birth of her youngest daughter prompted her to leave and become a beloved daycare provider for 17 years. Kris had two children of her own but was the second mother to dozens. Her beautiful smile, funny demeanor, and adventurous spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlene (Deane) and Robert Adams of Wyoming. Kris is survived by her husband, Sean; daughters, Katelyn and Emilee; and brothers and sisters, Mike Adams, Kathy VerWys, and Lori Bolthouse. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Jenison Bible Church, 360 14th Ave., Hudsonville with Rev. Mark Bouslog officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, March 3 from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. at the church.
