Kerwin Matt Rinks

Kerwin Matt Rinks, age 79, of Wyoming, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 30, 2016. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley; children, Valerie Rinks, Connie (Bruce) Van Volkinburg, Sheryl and Larry Bourdon, Christine and Ed Splane; grandchildren, Tracey, Nathan, Phillip, Eric, Jeff Rinks, Chad, Ian, Ivan; one great granddaughter and seven great grandsons; sisters, Mary Lou Tjepkema, Shirley Millet; mother-in-law, Opal Berwald; sisters-in-law, Delores and Tom Thayer, Cathy Alexander; and several nieces and nephews. Kerwin retired from GM after 28 years of service and also worked for his brother at Superior Tile and Pottery. He drove the church bus for Sunday school and also served as a helper for Junior Church. Kerwin served his country in the National Guard and was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Wyoming.  He was lovingly dedicated to God and his family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 11 AM at Sunset Park Church of God, 3450 Michael Ave. SW, Wyoming with Pastor Paul Myers officiating.  Interment Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 5-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and Tuesday from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice or Sunset Park Church of God.
