Kern William Hansen

Hansen, Kern William Kern William Hansen, age 92, of Allendale, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 9, 2013.   He was a kind and selfless man who put others before himself.  Kern proudly served our country during WWII as a member of the US Army.   After retiring from dairy farming, Kern’s love for John Deere Tractors continued where many knew him for his tractor collection.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mavis in 1967; children, Victor, Faith and Pamela; most recently his wife of 32 years, Joan.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Curt and Carol Hansen, Bill and Kim Hansen, Hope Hansen; 8 grandchildren; Curt and Jody Hansen, Calvin Hansen, Cathy and Nick Frantz, Clayton Hansen and friend Emily, Lucus and Michelle Hansen, Angela and Georg Burwick, Jon and Shannon Burt; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Ken Hansen, Wayne Hansen, Nelson and Betsy Hansen; sister-in-law, Shelly Cook; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Funeral services will be held Thursday 11am at Spring Valley Church, 5947 Lake Michigan Dr., Allendale with Rev. Gary Van Koevering officiating.  Interment Allendale Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale.
