
Kenneth Lee Holstege, age 71, of Allendale, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 and gained his eternal home in heaven. Ken was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who dearly cherished his family. He always made it a priority to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s activities over the years and never missed a game. Ken was the co-owner of Lee’s Trenching, where many knew him as “Kenny”, and was a part of the company for 53 years. He was an avid animal lover, especially his horses and dogs. Over the years, Ken and his wife Mary traveled all over the United States attending his daughter Teresa’s horse shows and establishing many friendships. Above all, his faith and love for Jesus was evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Julia Holstege. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Bredeway); his children and grandchildren, Troy Holstege (Brycen, Quinlyn, and Burandyt), Teresa and Kevin DeGood (Devin); his siblings, Jim and Jan Holstege, Larry and Arlene Keen, Denny and Sandy Haasevoort; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rev. Karl and Ruth Ann Overbeek, Ted and Bonnie Jager, Jim and Holly Harper, Larry and Marlene Bredeway; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11 am at Rusk Christian Reformed Church, 10354 92nd Ave, Allendale, with Rev. Mark Neymeiyer officiating. The service will be livestreamed at http://ruskcrc.org/livestream/. Burial Rusk Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, November 3, from 6-8 pm and from 10-10:45 am prior to the service on Thursday at Rusk Christian Reformed Church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Borculo Christian School or the Rusk CRC Benevolent Fund.
