Kenneth Orvel Bogardus, aged 82 of Wyoming, was taken to his heavenly home on Monday, February 22, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Madeline Bogardus. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Nancy; children, Kenneth Bogardus, Kathryn (Randy) Kuiper, Susan (Ian) Fraser, David (Cathy) Bogardus, Edward (Taffy) Bogardus; grandchildren, Tony, John, Mandy, Karie, Nick, Jared, Jackie, Lynn, Nicole, Angela, Brion, Mary, Rachel, Edward, James, Jennifer, Olivia; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Paul E. (Barb), Richard (Joyce), Madeline Chrysler, Lorraine Marsh, Audrey (RV) McHenry, Andrea (Richard) Vickers; sisters-in-law, Marcia Rossman, Barb (Tom) Baranoski; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ken was a loving family man who was devoted to his faith. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Antique Auto Club and enjoyed collecting Hudson automobiles. He was an expert machinist who helped to restore the Futureliner seen at Millenium Park. Ken co-founded and ran RNB Machine and Tool. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1630 Godfrey SW, Wyoming with Fr. Steve Dudek presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or American Cancer Society.
