Kathleen Boomstra

Kathleen Ann Boomstra, age 77, of Norton Shores (formerly of Jenison), passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Boomstra; daughter, Amy Bowyer; parents, Kenneth and Ruth Brower; brother, David Brower; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Laura Boomstra; brother-in-law, Ben Mulder; sister-in-law, Felicia Boomstra; nephew, Evan Boomstra. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Kristy Boomstra; daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Matthew Bergsma, son-in-law, William Bowyer Jr.; grandchildren, Maria, Nicholas, Keira, Makenna, Hunter, Archer, Fischer; great-grandson, Luca; sister, Chris (Mark) Johnson; brothers-in-law, David (Terri) Boomstra, Larry (Jane) Boomstra; sister-in-law, Vona (Mark) Matus; special niece, Breanna (Michael) Guess, and other nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Kathleen had a knack for finding a good bargain, earning her the affectionate nickname “Clearance Queen” among her family. She had a tender heart for animals and enjoyed making and selling crafts. Above all, Kathleen cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in bringing everyone together and hosting family gatherings, creating many treasured memories along the way. A private family graveside service will be held at Floral View Memorial Gardens. An open house to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 12-3 p.m. at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, 1000 East Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49525. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Harbor Humane Society.
