Katherine M. Kalkofen

Katherine Marie Kalkofen, age 90, of Jenison, was taken home by her heavenly Father on Sunday, May 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Lew and Liz Bos, Elmer and Jean Bode, Donald Wondergem. Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. She worked at Fruitbasket Flowerland in Wyoming retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, blessing many friends and family members with her handiwork. Katherine was a longtime member of Bethany URC in Wyoming where she served with her time and talents in many ways. She was blessed with a faithful church family and community that supported her with many cards and visits. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Mary and Jay Bosch, Ruth and Scott Ten Harmsel; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Wondergem; many loving nephews and nieces. Because of the current COVID-19 environment, private family funeral services will be held on Thursday at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Casey Freswik officiating.  Burial Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sunset Manor.  The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Sunset Manor and Faith Hospice for the compassionate care and love given to Katherine during her time at Sunset.
