Kara Elizabeth Fox

Kara Elizabeth Fox, age 39, of Grand Rapids was brought to peace on Sunday, January 1st, 2023 surrounded by her family after a long journey battling addiction and mental health issues. Despite her struggles and short time with us, she packed her years with adventure, laughter, and love. Kara’s childhood was filled with tree climbing, bringing home reptiles in her pockets, and fishing in whatever pond was around. Kara grew into a giving, intelligent, and nurturing woman who became a nurse and a mother to three boys, Dane, Brady, and Blake. She loved taking her boys to the zoo, camping, and fishing. Her fun and eclectic personality was expressed through her flavorful cooking, sense of style, and creative cake decorating. Kara’s charming personality and sense of humor were infectious and made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She easily found a special place in many hearts.

She will be remembered by her sons, Dane and Brady and their father, Ted Fox; Blake and his father, Jeremy Ingersoll; her parents, Mike and Kathy Fox; sisters, Emily (Drew) Lipski and Katelyn (Scott) Bush; grandmother, Sharon Fox; and many nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 6300 Belmont Ave NE, Belmont, with Father Tony Pelak officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE Belmont, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to benefit Kara’s childrens’ future.
