Julie Jean Barnhart

Julie Jean Barnhart-Hoffman, age 67, of Grand Rapids passed away unexpectedly and went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and thoughtful woman with a great artistic flair that she especially shared through her work at Steelcase. A proud graduate of Michigan State University, she dedicated almost 30 years of her career to Steelcase, where her creativity and talents left a lasting mark. She was preceded in death by her beloved fiance of 15 years, Richard “Dick” Dunigan; her parents, Benjamin and Jean Barnhart; brother, Randall Drake Barnhart. She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew, James “Jim” Barnhart and his children, Alyssa (Brandon) Barnhart, Benjimin Barnhart; great-nephew, Atlas James Barnhart; sister-in-law Denise Hoffman and her children, Dayne and Leah Hoffman and their son Greylan, Drake (Elli) Hoffman and their children, Emley and Jensen; many dear friends and other extended family members. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 5-7 pm at MKD Funeral Chapel (Belmont), 1601 Post Dr. N.E., Belmont. The burial will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, MI.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be given to Paws With A Cause.
