Judy Bolthouse

Judy Luann Bolthouse, age 76, of Jenison entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Judy worked for her family business, James Douglas Hair Studio, for seven years in Grandville, and loved to work directly with everyone who came through the door. At a young age she learned to sew and was an avid seamstress throughout her life and loved to showcase her creativity through the clothes that she would make. Judy and her husband loved to spend time with each other at Sandy Pines and after Jim’s retirement they enjoyed a brief stint of traveling cross-country. Judy courageously battled multiple health issues toward the end of her life, during which she showcased her strength and resilience. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitch and Ella Jannereth; and her son-in-law, Mark VanderJagt. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, James Douglas Bolthouse; daughters, Shelley (Steve) Frody, Nadene VanderJagt, Laura (Chris) Carr; grandchildren, Larissa Frody, Shonta Frody, Savannah (Al) Smith, Derryk VanderJagt, Daniel VanderJagt, Sylvia VanderJagt, Christian (Kelsey) Carr, Elizabeth Carr, Caden Carr; great-grandchildren, Macklin Smith, and Chloe Carr. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Dr., Hudsonville with Pastor Scott VanOostendorp officiating. A private family burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 am prior to the service at church. The family would like to thank the community for all the years of support during Judy’s time working for the Hair Studio and for all of the prayers during her later years.
