Judith VanderMeer

Judith M. VanderMeer, age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 7, 2025. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Born in Holland, Michigan and a longtime resident of Wyoming, Judy was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her quiet strength and generous spirit touched the lives of many.

Judy dedicated her life to her family and teaching young children. She received her master’s in early childhood education after raising four children. Judy enjoyed sharing her musical talents of playing the piano and organ in church, which she began at the age of 12. Her last years were spent at Rivertown Ridge where she found much joy from the wonderful staff and many volunteers. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Doug; children, Nathan, Amy (Jeffrey), David, Mark (Shannon); grandchildren: Aubree (Jim), Perrin, Nickson, Emery, Nolan, Devin, Charlotte, and Harrison; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Rowan; brothers, Rev. Joel (Karen) Boot, and Dan (Carol) Boot; sister, Debbie; brother-in-law, Wayne (Colette) VanderMeer; sister-in-law, Kim (Dave) Pagel; and several nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her brother, David Boot.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Harry Koops officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday, September 12, from 4-7 pm at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10-11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to Eighth Reformed Church in Judith’s honor. The family would like to thank the loving staff at Rivertown Ridge for their care of Judy over the past three years during her battle with dementia.
