
Judith A. Russell, 85, of Kentwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Judy was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was truly one of the sweetest souls to walk this earth, known for her kindness and gentle spirit. Judy found immense joy in bowling, even achieving the rare and impressive perfect score of 300 on multiple occasions. She also enjoyed golfing and spending time outdoors. Gifted with a beautiful voice, she loved to sing and share that joy with others. Judy was also very creative, finding happiness in crafting, scrapbooking, and making heartfelt cards for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Russell.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Steve and Jeannie Umbarger, Jim and Sharon Umbarger; grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda and Josh Glen, Coty Umbarger, Kayli and Dakota Smith, and Bradley Jessie; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Simon; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Wayne Hall; Judy’s chosen family, the TOPS Group; Patricia and Dan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 26 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with Rev. Rick Rush officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to the service on Thursday from 10-10:30 am at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Lung Association or University of Michigan Health West Hospital.
