Joyce Swanson

Joyce Elaine (Syswerda) Swanson, age 89, of Wyoming, Michigan, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Charles Swanson and one great-grandchild. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Charlie (Kathy) Swanson, Mike Swanson, Ron (Cindy) Swanson, Patty Swanson, and Barb (Brent) DeVos; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Shirley (Gary) Groenveld and Betty (Pat) Goeman. God gave Joyce the gift of helping others and she was happiest when she was fulfilling that gift. She was filled with great joy when providing transportation for someone or fixing them a meal. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Kelloggsville Christian Reformed Church, 610 – 52nd St. S.E., Kentwood, with a luncheon to follow. The burial will take place at Winchester Cemetery. Family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, September 21, from 6:00–8:30 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to NF Michigan.
