
Joseph Albert Kaniewski entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 2, 2022. He was a veteran of the United States Marines during the Korean conflict, an elder and deacon at John Knox Presbyterian Church, an advisor for Junior Achievement, and served his community as a school board member for Kelloggsville Public Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, John Sundeen; son, Keith Kaniewski. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Victoria Sundeen; sons: Jeff (Barb) Kaniewski, Eric (Barb) Kaniewski, and Brian Hamilton; grandchildren: Kristen, Rachael, Shannon (Russell), Hannah, Joseph (Joanna), Britni (Jay), Jordon (Olivia), Ashley B., Ashley H., and Julie (Kyle); 17 great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Russell Eric, Jackson, Nicholas, Joseph II, Philip, Layla, Marla, Elodie, Everett, Gerrit, Zachary, Lincoln, Keith, Chloe, Aubrey, and Willow; his cats, Mouse, Sandy and Spook; sister and many nieces & nephews. Vicki and the family extend a special thank you to Emma, Tim and Rich from Spectrum Health Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Faith Reformed Church, 618 32nd Street SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Bruce Osbeck officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 10-11am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice.
