Jory Kurkjian Sr.

May 11, 1990 ~
July 16, 2021

Jory Gerard Kurkjian, age 31, of Jenison, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 16, 2021. Jory was the ultimate lover and fighter and he did both wholeheartedly in everything he did, especially for his family. He was a light in any room he walked in. His loving personality was felt everywhere he went. Jory loved nothing more than his beautiful wife, two children, and God. Jory did it all. In the spring and summer, he spent his time hunting, fishing, camping, and hanging poolside. In the fall and winter, his time consisted of snowboarding, building snowmen with the kids, and cheering on his Wolverines. Jory was a man of God. Over the last year, he found strength, peace, and joy through his difficult trials, that only God could provide. He will be greatly missed and his legacy will live on forever. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Gregory and Rosemary Kurkjian, James Westerhof; and uncle, Gerald Kurkjian. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jessica; children, Skylar Rose and Jory Jr.; parents, Gerard and Sheryl Kurkjian; brother, Troy (Stephanie) Kurkjian; sister, Audra Kurkjian; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Brenda Hendrickson; brothers-in-law, Zachery (Jilly) Hendrickson, Jacob Hendrickson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at ResLife Church in the Res Center, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Pat Binish officiating. Please enter the church through door “E” or “H”. The burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, July 22, from 5-9 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. An additional visitation will be held on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
