John Steven Ayuso

John Steven Ayuso, age 72, of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025.  John was born June 26, 1953 in Belize City, Belize.  The second child of Luke and Margie Ayuso of Wyoming.  John attended grade school in Belize City, then high school in Grand Rapids graduating in 1970 from Catholic Central High School.  John continued his studies at Grand Rapids Junior College and received an Associate of Arts degree.  He then transferred to Ferris State University to study automotive repair.  John’s greatest passion was his love of music.  Over the years he acquired hundreds of record albums.  His knowledge of musicians and lyrics as well as playing the electric guitar provided him with many happy times.  Preceded in death by his parents.  John is survived by brothers, Michael Ayuso, Greg Ayuso, Luke Ayuso; sisters, Margaret (Dick) Westerhof, Patricia (Tom) Polkowski, Jeanne Sas and Nancy (Mike) Pekrul; nephews, Dan Westerhof, Joe Westerhof, Neko Ayuso, Nick Polkowski, Jake Sas, Brad Ayuso, Kyle Pekrul; nieces, Meg Westerhof, Madeline Liggett and Ahnika Hansen; great nieces and nephews as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.  John was a light-hearted soul with a sense of humor yet tormented for years by the troubled mind of Schizophrenia.  He can finally rest in peace now.  The family wishes to thank the staff at The Laurels of Kent in Lowell and his guardian, Deb, for their support and care.  The family will meet privately for visitation and service.  Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming, MI.
