
With love and gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of John Douglas Sall, age 62, of Hudsonville, on Friday, January 17, 2025. As he was welcomed into Heaven by his Lord and Savior, his daughter, Caitlin ran to greet him with a big hug. John was a loving husband, dad, and papa. He loved spending time with his grandsons, boating on Torch Lake, hunting with his son, and golfing with his buddies. John had a deep love for Jesus and loved serving in his church as an elder, deacon, cadet counselor, and youth leader. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Caitlin Sall-Azevedo; parents-in-law, Elwin and Helen Landstra; and brother-in-law, Denny Smith. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Mary Jo Sall; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Brandi Sall; son-in-law, Nate Azevedo; grandchildren, Ford, Fitz, and Grey; parents, Dale and Delores Sall; sisters and brother-in-law, Cherie and Denny DeHaan, Cathy Sall; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jan and Jim De Lange, Carol and Jeff Stoner, Luanne and Jerry Emelander; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 24, at 1 p.m. at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress Drive, Jenison, with Rev. Matthew Palsrok officiating. He will be laid to rest at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 23, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Outfitters 4 Hope which was an organization very close to John’s heart.
