On Sunday, June 14, 2015, John Pierson Kamps, age 79, of Hudsonville, was delivered from this life into glory to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his children, Laurie Jo Buiter, Luanne Jean Kamps, Michael John Kamps, and Matthew John Kamps; his parents, George and Nellie Kamps; and his brothers and sisters, William Kamps, Henry Kamps, Tillie Bodbyl, Grace Schimmel, Cornelius Kamps, George Kamps, Marinus Kamps, Nelson Kamps, Marvin Kamps; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy Kamps, John Bodbyl, Arlene Kamps, Grace Kamps, Doris Kamps, June Kamps. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Myra Kamps; son, Les (Beverly) Kamps; son-in-law, Thomas (Nancy) Buiter; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Louis (Esther) Kamps, Leon Kamps; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marge Kamps, Marge (Kamps) Mollema, Gilbert Schimmel, Nancy Kamps, Harriet Prins, Shirley (Jack) Kole, Phyllis (Wayne) Bekkering, Beverly DeBoer; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 12:00 noon at Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church, 5101 Beech Tree, Hudsonville, with Rev. Garrett Eriks officiating. Interment will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday 11:00 am–12:00 noon prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Protestant Reformed Special Education.
