John L. Gruscinski, age 85 of Wyoming, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, June 15, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Leona M. Gruscinski, parents, John and Mary Gruscinski, brothers, Raymond, Alfred, D. Harold and Robert. He is survived by his children, Mary Kay (Rudy) Swider of Winter Haven, FL., William (Anne) Gruscinski of Wyoming, MI, Thomas (Kelly) Gruscinski of North Olmsted, OH; grandchildren, Michelle, Timothy and Kevin; sister-in-law, Rosemary Holzgen; several nieces and nephews. John was born in Wayland, moved to Hilliards and grew up on the family farm. John married Leona M. Holzgen on June 4, 1955 in Holy Name of Jesus Church and soon moved to Wyoming. He was employed as a die maker at General Motors and was a faithful, loyal member of the UAW. John served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He will be lovingly remembered by his family as a devoted family man, who put his wife and children first. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, with Fr. Mike Alber presiding. Interment St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a rosary at 6 pm. A time of visitation will also be Friday 10-11am at church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St John Vianney Building Campaign.
