John Joseph Lach was called to his heavenly home on March 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Laura Mae, sister Catherine Detz, brothers, Harry, Joseph, Aloysius . He is survived by his children, Thierry (Mary) Lach, John (Karen Rose) Lach, Karen Marie Lach, Michal (Lisa) Lach, grandchildren, Laura (Jacob) Boor, Alysha (Kevin) White, Andrew Lach, Sara Lach, Brian Lach, Joshua Lach, Kristen Lach, great grandchildren, Chloe White, Julian Boor, and many nieces and nephews. John valiantly served his country during the Korean War in the Army Tank Corp. John was a devout, God fearing man who instilled his Christian values in his children and grandchildren. He was a quiet, contented man who never complained and loved spending time with family and family dogs. He enjoyed fishing, his beloved Detroit Red Wings and Tigers, watching storms, and playing cards. John was one of the founding members of the Bingo Team to help support the St. John Vianney school and parish. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 12:00 noon at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, from 4 - 8 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming and one hour prior to Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartside Gleaning Initiative.
