John Dykstra

John Dykstra, age 90, of Jenison, was taken to his Heavenly home on Monday, April 27, 2020.  He was a milk delivery man for many years before retirement and served many terms as an elder and school board member and was also a veteran who served in the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine; son, Richard; daughter, Janna; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Westra.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cindi and Don DeJong, Lori and Dan Pastoor, Doug Dykstra; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Theressa and Willem Hofman; sister-in-law, Elaine Zinger; brother-in-law, Elmer and Ann DeWeerd; many nieces and nephews.  Due to COVID health concerns, a private family service will be held on Friday, May 1, 10 a.m. at Grace Protestant Reformed Church with Rev. Ronald Van Overloop officiating.  The service will be live streamed at www.graceprc.org/watchlive.cfm. Burial Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School or Sunset Manor.
